Trying CBD Oil?!

I finally bit the bullet and brought cannabidiol (CBD) oil.

For those who aren’t sure what CBD oil is, it’s basically an oil which has been made from a cannabis plant. And no, before you ask, CBD oil will NOT get you high.

The reason that CBD oil appealed to me was because of many reasons. CBD oil claims to:

  • Relieves Pain and Inflammation
  • Reduces Anxiety
  • Helps those with OCD and PTSD
  • Helps to fight cancer
  • Helps control seizures
  • Relieves nausea
  • Helps you to sleep better

All with no known side effects. Win.

Since my operation, pain, nausea, and difficulty sleeping has been a major symptom, and since I’m currently taking 9 different tablets a day, I was willing to try anything to cut this number down since a lot of them do come with horrible side effects, that makes me have to try to work out what symptom I would rather deal with.

There are different ways for you to take CBD oil. Theres the straight up oil which is what I brought. There’s sprays, capsules, vape liquids, roll ons, and even edibles which I’m dying to try out.

I also liked that you can choose a range of different flavours and strengths. I personally opted for the 400mg option in strawberry…

Oh how I wish I didn’t get strawberry. It tastes awful. Imagine mouldy strawberries that have been left in a bucket of dirty sink water. Ugh.

You then put the oil under your tongue, and leave it there for 60-90 seconds. I honestly have to put it under my tongue, and keep my tongue up for as long as I can so I cant taste it. After around 2 minutes, I then wash it down with a drink. It still tastes vile.vSomeone did suggest that I buy empty capsules off of Amazon and fill them up instead which I think I may end up doing. Definitely not a fan of it.

In all honestly, I haven’t really noticed any difference to the pain. It still is early days, but I was hoping this would be my miracle cure straight away, but there is still time I guess. The one thing I can say is that I have noticed a big difference in my sleep. I usually can watch season after season episode after episode of series on Netflix, but I now find myself struggling to keep my eyes open after I take this! I also find it works super fast. After around 10 minutes or so, all I want to do is curl up in a bath and have a nap. Bliss.

Even if this product won’t be my miracle cure for pain, it definitely will be my new must have for sorting out my sleep. I’m 100% going to repurchase this, but in the blueberry flavour, and pray to the CBD gods that it doesn’t taste like shit. I would definitely recommend it for others to try, and see how it benefits you. Anything’s worth a shot, hey?

Have you ever tried CBD oil before? What were the effect on you?

  1. I have been using medical cannabis for over 10 years now it makes my pain manageable and it helps balance out my body. I tend to get tons of nausea from my endo so it helps with that and plus I get bad inflammation as well and my body does well only to natural remedies. I tried twice to take pain killers the doctors gave me and I ended up throwing up. Never again. Hope that helps.

      1. You’re very welcome!! It’s the only thing I use for pain and I’m super active and it helps so much! Yes it helps me eat as well!! You can even add it to your fruit or veggie smoothies with the oil. Good luck! I hope you feel better I’ve been there!

  2. It’s great stuff. Made a massive difference to our lives… Maybe stay away from ‘flavoured’ oils in the future….. Oh, and store in the fridge…. It can go off!!
