Decide When You’re Going To Post And Let Your Readers Know
I saw someone who described this really well (If you’re that person, please let me know so I can link your post!). It’s like watching a TV series. You know that a certain show will be shown every Friday at 8pm. You look forward to it. You can’t wait for the next one. THAT is how you want your readers to feel. They want to know what days you’ll be posting, and what time they can look forward to seeing your next post.
FYI: I post every single day at 4am BST!
Please ignore the 1. on this post. It won’t disappear!
Mix Things Up A Little
This can be a little scary for you and your readers, but throw something else in the mix! Keep it similar, but lets say your blog is about cars, throw in a post about a motorbike. If your blog is about healthy eating, post a workout. Keep your readers entertained!
Proof Read, And Proof Read Again
This was something I wish I learned straight away. With first ever post, I was so excited to get it out there, and since it took me forever to write, I honestly didn’t feel like reading back over it. Luckily, WordPress has a button which proof reads it for you! I would be careful though since it isn’t the greatest, but I click the button, and read through my whole post with it enabled.
Don’t Over Tag!
WordPress allows you to post as many tags and categories as you like, but it comes with a downside. You’re only allowed to categorise and tag 15 things in total, or else it will not show up on the reader, which is a crucial part of getting traffic from your followers.
Also, make sure you’re tagging things that are relevant to your post. No point tagging #Xbox if your post is about baking…
I cannot stress this enough. The amount of times I haven’t followed someone, simply because I cannot find their follow button! You NEED to make these easy to find for viewers, other wise they won’t follow, simply because they don’t want to spend ages looking for it.
Set Yourself Goals
I do this every day. I aim to get a certain amount of views daily, and a certain amount of views in a week. I also aim to get 3+ followers a week.
DON’T make your goals stupidly high that you won’t be able to reach. Make them achievable, but only if you put in some hard work.
Ask Your Readers What THEY Want
For example, you’re all likely aware by now that I post beauty related posts. Lets say I’ve posted a haul. Ask your readers if they want a review on a certain product! Or say you’ve shown off your new DIY bird house. Ask if they want to see how you built it!
End Your Posts In A Question
You may have noticed that I always do this. I love this since it allows me to engage with my readers slightly more that without it. It gives off a good starting point for a conversation.
So there we have it! I’m going to try to post more of my blogging tips and tricks that I have learnt regularly, since I LOVE reading others! If you’ve written a post like this, leave your links down below so I can check them out!
