I had zero intention of getting these. These caught my eye whilst I was queuing up to pay, and I thought that they were a steal at £3.99, and I had to at least try them. I picked up a dark purple (Blackberry), a black (Noir) and one nude shade (Mocha).

Thoughts & Feelings
SHADES: First off, I LOVE the shades I picked up. They’re so pigmented and since I love darker colours, I’m definitely a fan.
APPLICATION: These literally glided on. They’re so smooth and almost silky. Again, definitely still a fan of these.
MATTE?: I’d say these were more velvet than matte. It doesn’t bug me too much since they do have a little bit of matte to them, but they’re very, very creamy and non drying.
KISS PROOF?: There definitely is some transfer and these 100% will smudge, but since I haven’t got anyone to kiss, it’s not that much of a big deal for me. It will go all over my cheeseburgers though…
DUPE?: There is actually a lot of people who reckon that these are dupes for high end brands, including MAC. Unfortunately, I only have one MAC lipstick, so I can’t really comment on this. These are a list of dupes that I found:
- Matte Lipstick Sweet Rose is a dupe for MAC Mehr Lipstick
- Pure Colour Velvet Matte Lipstick Crayon is a dupe for Nars Velvet Matte Pencils
- Pure Colour Lip Liner is a dupe for Kylie Cosmetics Lip Liners
- Blush Perfume is a dupe for Iconic Coco Chanel Mademoiselle
WOULD I RE-PURCHASE?: Definitely. I honestly can’t wait to get into town and get more shades. Come to mama.
I thought I would mention that unfortunately these are only available in the UK! Sorry to all my overseas readers!
To my UK readers, I do believe that some of these shades have been discontinued unfortunately, but they still do have a big ol’ range to choose from.
Have you ever tried out New Look’s beauty range? What did you think?
