Hair Care Routine

Today, I am collaborating with the wonderful Agnes from agirlyaknow! We have  previously collaborated before, and both reviewed a mascara and eyeliner (which you can check out HERE)! Agnes is such a pleasure to speak to and is such a lovely girl all around! You should definitely go check out her blog and her hair care routine.

About My Hair

Firstly, I have EXTREMELY oily and greasy hair which is the bane of my life. I tend to wash my hair every other day if I can. I would LOVE to be able to wash my hair everyday, but my health wouldn’t let me and the grease gets worse if I wash it more than every other day since I’m stripping away more of the natural oils!

I suffer from psoriasis as well, which can mainly be found on my scalp. It’s honestly so gross, I can’t being to tell you. Just imagine it being 30 degrees, but you think its snowing. Then you realise ‘oh wait, that’s my dead skin falling off’.

I rarely use heat. I’m the type of person who wakes up and walks out the door, without even considering what my hair looks like (not always the best). I’d say I use heat about 4-5 times a YEAR.

My hair also grows really fast. Like, REALLY fast. I used to have super long hair, and then before my operation, I chopped it all off so I didn’t have to worry about it and its already grown quite a bit (to the point where I’m now able to put it all up in a pony tail!).

Hair Care Routine

Since I have scalp psoriasis, I used Neutrogena’s T-Gel. This is honestly the BEST thing I have ever used! Straight away I noticed the redness and the flakey grossness disappearing! I still get the occasional flare up if I’ve been ill or stressed out, but this stuff sorts it out so fast!

I don’t actually use conditioner every time I wash my hair, but when I do, Aussie always has my back. I don’t actually buy a certain one each time. I just tend to pick up what I think my hair needs at that time.

Hair Mask

If I haven’t used conditioner in a while, or I just want to send some TLC to my hair, I always use the TRESemme Breakage Defence Restructuring Treatment Masque. I wrote a full review about it here, so I won’t go into too much detail, but I bloody love this stuff.

Hair Brush

I always, always, ALWAYS use a Tangle Teaser to brush my hair. I first got brought one for Christmas a few years back, and then I received one in my July 2017 Birchbox Box! I honestly wouldn’t ever buy another hairbrush that isn’t a Tangle Teaser!

Dry Shampoo

My one true baby. Who doesn’t love a bit of dry shampoo? I am definitely no stranger to using it a couple of times a week. I always use the Original Batiste Dry Shampoo. I’ve tried different ones from other brands, but nothing works as well as Batiste.

I honestly don’t do that much to my hair. I normally tend to bung the top section of my hair into a pony tail, and walk out the door. However, if I do decide to change things up a little, I love the Batiste XXL Volume Spray. I just tip my head upside down, spray this all over (mainly focusing on the roots), flip my head back again, finish it off with the Schwarzkopf got2b Glued Blasting Freeze Spray, and I’m good to go! The spray is INCREDIBLE at giving volume, and the hair spray holds my locks like no other. If only they got married and had a baby XXL freeze spray…
