REVIEW: TRESemme Breakage Defence Restructuring Treatment Masque

I popped into Superdrug one day to pick up a few bits and pieces when I came across this hair mask. My hair gets SUPER oily, so I tend to stay away from hair masks (I only use conditioner every other time I was my hair), but decided that my hair needed a bit of loving.

This was actually on sale (I’ve found it to be on sale quite a lot), but it originally retails for £5.49 which is still dirt cheap.

Professional performance formula enriched with vitamins restructures hair, protecting it from split ends and breakage*. Ideal for those who regularly use heat styling tools. Hair is left silky soft, shiny and tangle free.

The Packaging

The mask is stored in a white tub with a black lid. Usually, I don’t products being in tubs since it can transfer bacteria and cross contaminate, but since this was for my hair, I actually really liked it since I can get every last bit of the product out.

The Review

Aqua (Water),Cetyl Alcohol,Stearyl Alcohol,Cetrimonium Bromide,Quaternium-18,Stearamidopropyl Dimethylamine,Quaternium 80,Quaternium-26,Paraffinum Liquidum (Mineral Oil),Petrolatum,Dimethicone,Panthenol,Tocopheryl Acetate,Aloe Barbadensis Leaf Juice,Meadowfoam (Limnanthes Alba) Seed Oil,Hydroxypropyltrimonium Hydrolyzed Wheat Protein,Propylene Glycol,Hydroxyethycellulose,Lanolin,Lactic Acid,Pentasodium

It says to leave this on for at least 1-2 minutes, which is perfect for me since I can pop this on, and then shave my legs and have a wash in that time. I can’t stand hair products or face products which you have to leave on for 20+ minutes.

I was worried about using this since my hair is really greasy all the time, but I decided to put this onto my roots since the poor buggers haven’t seen anything in the slightest form of a conditioner in a few months.

As soon as I dunked my hair into the water to wash it off, my hair felt like literal silk. I couldn’t stop running my fingers through it! Even when I had taken my hair out of the water, I could still notice a massive difference.

I always use a twisty turbie to dry my hair, but when I removed that after 10 minutes, the smell hit me, and my hair looked so healthy and shiny, but didn’t look greasy! Result!

The scent is stunning. I can’t really describe it other than the typical conditioner smell with a little something else added. I also love how the smell stays in your hair, even after a couple of days.

I would definitely recommend that you try this out. I can’t believe I didn’t try it sooner! I now have 3 tubs in storage, waiting to soak into my locks!

  1. I also endure the torment of oily hair – literally drives me insane!! I normally have to wash my hair every day, but have recently been trying to wash it every other day – its so hard, I feel so self-conscious! How often do you wash your hair? Do you have any tips? I have tried dry-shampoo but it never works for me.

P.S. loved this post – will definitely be giving it a go – I have bleached ends so they’re always up for a bit of hydration! haha x

    1. I try to wash my hair every other day, but it sounds really gross, but try to leave it as long as possible inbetween washes! I found it helped the oiliness so much when I wasn’t washing it as often! Also, try using baby powder instead of dry shampoo! x

      1. No it doesnt sound gross at all! I know that natural oils are good for your hair, but it just makes you feel gross doesn’t it!😂🙄 yes I’ve used that before and it works so much better! Thanks for your advice! I envy those that can get away with washing their hair once a week!😩X
