How To Decrease Sweating

As a self confessed sweater, I would do anything to help stop the drip. Your reasons for sweating may be due to stress and the weather, but may be due to genetics, health and medication. Whatever your reasons for sweating are, nobody wants to have it.

Clinical Protection Antiperspirant

Try and find an extra strength antiperspirant to help decrease the sweat! Also, don’t just apply in the morning, use it at night as well!

Avoid Caffeine

Caffeine is definitely one of my triggers. I find that if I drink a lot of coffee, I will literally feel like I’m melting, and likely look like I am too. If you’re a coffee addict, try switching to decaf instead!

Stop Eating Certain Foods

Spicy and fatty foods can be a big trigger for a lot of people. Try cutting these down, or completely out of your diet if you can.

Wear The Right Things

If you sweat a lot, you’re likely going to want to hide away in black clothing so that the patches aren’t visible, but dark colours attract more heat from the sun, leading you to sweat more! Try wearing baggier, lighter clothing.

Get Out Them Period Pads!

To reduce the amount of underarm sweat stains, pop a period pad inside each of the arms of your top. The pads will soak up the sweat rather than your t-shirt!

Losing Weight

Sweating is more common in those who are larger. Losing weigh wont stop you sweating completely, but it will have a massive effect.

Getting Medication From A Doctor

There are many different tablets out there that the doctor can prescribe for you to use. I haven’t personally tried these, or know anyone who has, so I cannot guarantee how effective they are. Speak with your doctor and see if there is anything they can do.

This is something which I’m currently looking into. I don’t think they do this at hospitals (please correct me if I’m wrong), but a lot of beauty salons can do this procedure. If you do end up going down the botox route, please, please, PLEASE make sure that they are licensed and fully trained.

Oh my god, I have never thought about period pads before!! I like to be nice and warm, but obviously that means I sweat too! I will definitely try the pad idea for when I want ribbed toasty but out for something nice (especially Christmas dinner at Grandmas!!) xo

Period Pads?!! Umm wouldn’t it like be extremely uncomfortable and noticeable?

    • 27th August 2017 / 2:00 am

Surprisingly not! When I’ve done it before, you can hardly feel them, and you can’t tell they’re on there!

      • 27th August 2017 / 2:01 am

Wow I should try that out. But um i don’t think you should do that with a white t-shirt right? xD

What tricks do you for makeup with sweating?

    • 27th August 2017 / 2:39 pm

I don’t tend to sweat a lot of my face, but I just use a good primer, lots of powder, and a setting spray! Sorry I couldn’t be much help!

I recently got this thing got Certain-dri from Target. It is only sold at those stores, and you put it on the night before, but omg I’ve never felt so dry before…and I’m usually renown for my sweating (sadly). But that’s a great option to try, especially before big occasions!
