This month, I’ve found so many new things that have quickly become my May 2018 favourites. Every brand seems to have upped their game at the same time, or this month just happens to be the month I find so many incredible products. Either way, I’m definitely not complaining.
May 2018 Favourites
Vitamin E Refreshing Toning Mist with soothing Aloe Vera instantly revitalises and tones the face giving a boost of moisture with each spray.
Enriched with naturally sourced Vitamin E, a powerful antioxidant that will help to shield your skin against environmental damage and premature skin ageing by combating the harmful effects of free radicals.
The replenishing formula also contains a skin conditioning multivitamin complex, comprising vitamins A, B, F and H, which, combined with horse chestnut extract, helps to care for dry skin.
I was running low on my beloved Mario Badescu Rose Water Facial Spray, and was actually going to repurchase it until I saw this. I’d heard so many good things about the Superdrug Vitamin E range, so decided to give this a go, and I’m insanely glad I did.
It smells incredible. It feels amazing. It hydrates my skin so well. There are so many boxes that this product ticks.
Buying this over the Mario Badescu spray saves me £8.01, so it’s fair to say I’m over the bloody moon with it. Also, if you live near me, I’m the reason you can never find it in our local Superdrug. I literally wiped the shelves of it the other day. Sorry, not sorry.

I heard someone talk about these ages ago, and then I spent the last year or so umming and ahhing whether or not I should get them.
You know blister plasters, and when you peel them off, they have that gross, milky white splotch on them? These are essentially that. You pop them on, and then after a few hours (I tend to wear mine overnight or when I know I’m not going out), they leave this extremely disgusting but also satisfying white gunk in the centre of them.
I find that they suck everything out, and make it heal a lot quicker. I’ve seen Primark now do similar ones, so I’m going to pick up a few when I next go in!
Worth the extra step in your in-shower routine, this top-up treatment is exactly what you didn’t know you needed! For hair to be its healthiest it needs to be supple and flexible (and never be coloured or heat styled!) And well, since that’s pretty impossible for most of us, we’ve created an intense pre-shampoo that will bring back the elasticity and manageability to your hair protecting it against breakage, thanks clever Polymers. It also delivers intense moisturisation and shine from natures finest, Coconut Oil and Jojoba Oil. We bet with regular use, you’ll see your hair game grow stronger – in your face daily styling regime!
I have such a shit hair care routine due to how lazy I am, so the ’60 second’ claim really hooked me in. All you have to do is pop this on for a minute, rinse out, and continue with your normal shampoo and conditioner.
My hair is a frizzy mess, so it was going to be the deal breaker if this helped to tame the mane, and honestly? It looked like I was wearing a wig after I tried this.
My hair looked and felt so smooth, and it lasted until I next washed my hair. It suggests only using this a few times a week, but I can’t see any harm in using it everytime you shower.

I normally stick to black bags so that I can match it with anything, but as soon as I saw this, I knew it was coming home with me.
It has two larger pockets on either side of the bag, and then a smaller pocket in the centre. Whilst it looks small, this bag can carry a ton of stuff, meaning I’m not having to choose between bringing my sunglasses or phone charger. First world problems, hey?
A balanced daily cleanser that thoroughly cleanses and moisturises and can calm sensitive skin and revitalise dull and mature skins. Doubles as a soothing and hydrating mask if left on the skin for ten minutes.
A sample of this arrived at my door in my April 2018 Lookfantastic Subscription Box and even though I said how much I loved this product before, I seemed to forget just how much I adored this.
This melts my makeup off so quickly and doesn’t leave my face feeling greasy. My face feels super clean and I know every last trace of makeup will be removed, so of course, I had to make space in my May 2018 favourites post for this little pot of joy.
Superdrug Vitamin E Hot Cloth Cleanser is suitable for removing dirt and makeup whilst providing gentle exfoliation.
I only picked this up since I am starting to run a little low on the Emma Hardie Cleansing Balm, and I didn’t want to be without something that removed my makeup.
This is pretty much identical to the Liz Earle Cleanse and Polish. It’s creamy, it smells nice, it works amazingly, but best of all, it’s really budget friendly.
Honestly, I think I could talk about the Superdrug’s Vitamin E range forever. If you haven’t tried anything out from the range yet, I highly suggest that you do!
From the UK’s iconic scrub brand. This blackhead reducing formula made with 100% Natural Exfoliants and skin-soothing green tea gently fights blemishes and reduces redness. The results is soft, smooth, calm skin.
Chloe Plumstead (thelittleplum.com) mentioned this scrub a while back, and it’s been on my mind ever since. St. Ives got in a lot of shit in 2016 (two women filed a $5 million lawsuit against them), and when I first heard of the controversy, I threw all of my St. Ives scrubs in the bin.
More recently, St. Ives seems to be slowly creeping their way back to the top of the ‘Best Drugstore Exfoliator’ leaderboard, so I decided to bite the bullet and give this one ago.
Long story short, I adore this. It’s super gentle on my skin and doesn’t sting or irritate it at all. When I first used it, I was so surprised how soft and blackhead-less my skin looked. Again, like the Vitamin E spray, this is a complete bargain.
Deborah Jenkins pulls her coat around her as she sets out on her short walk home in the pouring rain. But she never makes it home that night. And she is never seen again …
Four years later, an abandoned baby girl is found wrapped in dirty rags on a doorstep. An anonymous phone call urges the police to run a DNA test on the baby. But nobody is prepared for the results.
It takes me forever to find a book to read. Don’t get me wrong, I bloody love reading, it’s just that it seems to take me a lifetime to figure out what book I should start reading next.
The book does move very quickly, but there are so many twists and turns in it. As much as I am really enjoying reading it, I can’t wait to finish the book so I know what happens.
