Getting Spooky With LUSH

In all honesty, I’m not someone who really celebrates Halloween. I love the costumes, the movies, and of course, the discounted chocolate that hits the stores in November. However, you won’t be seeing me decorating the house or leaving a pumpkin outside my front door. The one thing that I mostly look forward to is the new seasonal product releases. Some brands will offer discount codes, or limited edition Halloween packaging, but not LUSH. LUSH changes the whole Halloween product release game. With 19 Halloween themed product to buy, I can guarantee that you’re going to find a product (or five) that’ll make you wish Halloween was every single day of the year. So, let’s stop the rambling, and let’s take a look at the new LUSH 2018 Halloween collection.

LUSH 2018 Halloween CollectionMonsters’ Ball Bath Bomb – £4.95

Brightly coloured bath bombs are always my favourite kind. There’s just something about taking a bath in brightly coloured water that makes me feel like a little kid again. I’d pick a brightly coloured bath over a plain clear one any day.

Not only is the Monsters’ Ball Bath Bomb full of explosive colours, but it’s packed full of pretty powerful ingredients (10 of them being completely natural!).

Lime Oil – I adore citrus scents, but I never really knew how incredible Lime Oil is. The oil is an astringent, meaning that it helps to remove dead skin cells, leaving you with toned and glowy skin. The Lime Oil powers don’t just stop there. It also helps to smooth out the hair follicle, leaving you with soft, smooth and shiny hair.

Neroli Oil – This oil has recently become such a popular skin care product and scent. You can almost guarantee that any beauty magazine you open, they’ll be talking about this oil. It’s toning, soothing and antimicrobial ways make this ingredient perfect for those suffering with acne. It’s also believed that the scent has mood improving qualities. I’m going to need this oil by the gallon please!

Himalayan Salt – For the last year or so, I’ve replaced my regular table salt with this pink version. Admittedly, the pink colour did sell it to me, but after reading the benefits when eaten, I’m so glad I made the change. Despite it being good for your insides, it helps volumize limp hair.

Olibanum Oil – This is another oil that not only smells incred, but does magically things to your skin. Soothes, tones, softens AND reduces the appearance of fine lines?! Yes please.

Who would have thought a bath bomb could do this much?!

Ectoplasm Jelly Bomb – £5.25

This was the first product from the LUSH 2018 Halloween collection that I tried. I’d heard of their Jelly Bombs before, but I’d never used one or even seen one in action before.

I popped it into my bath, and waited for the magic happen. After sitting there, staring at my now dissolved bath bomb, I wondered where on earth the jelly was. That was until I swiped at the suspicions bubbles that lay on the top of the water.

Unfortunately, I didn’t bring my phone in the bath with me, so I wasn’t able to get any photos of the goo, but I did find this Youtube video that showed it off pretty well.

After squishing it through my fingers a thousand times, I rubbed all the jelly into my damp skin, and then rinsed off. Never in my whole entire life has a bath product given me skin as soft as this did. If only they could bottle up the jelly, and sell that on its own!

Like the Monsters’ Ball, the Ectoplasm Jelly Bomb has some pretty fabulous ingredients in. How else would it make my skin feel that soft?

Grapefruit Oil – Grapefruit powered skin care became popular ever since Neutrogena released their Pink Grapefruit range. The reason why it’s now found in so many skin care products is due to the oil’s antibacterial effects it has. Perfect for those suffering with acne.

Tangerine Oil – I suffer with Raynaud’s disease, so my circulation is pretty awful. Tangerine Oil has been thought to improve circulation of your blood and lymph, making this ingredient a match made in heaven for me. It also smells pretty amazing which is another massive bonus for me.

Litsea Cubeba Oil – I’ve never heard of this oil before, but I’ve been told it’s mainly used in perfumes and aromatherapy.

Also, all three of these oils have an uplifting scent. Who knew a bath bomb could make you feel so much better, inside and out?

LUSH 2018 Halloween Collection

Ectoplasm Washcard – £2.00LUSH 2018 Halloween Collection

When I first saw this on the LUSH website, I knew I had to try it out. It’s unlike any other shower product I’ve ever seen before.

I’m really trying my hardest to switch to more environmentally friendly products, and everything about the Washcard really interested me.

Despite the Washcard only being a one use product, it was the plastic free, travel friendly and space saving concept really stood out to me.

Simply step in the shower, and massage the card into wet skin. It’ll then all lather up, leaving you with soft, clean skin.

The Ectoplasm Washcard contains two of the same oils as the Ectoplasm Jelly Bomb – Tangerine Oil and the Grapefruit Oil.

However, the card itself is made from Fresh Apple Pulp. Full of antioxidants and vitamins, you can expect to be left with nourished, exfoliated and refresh skin.

Ghost In The Dark Soap – £5.95

I’ll be honest. I’m not really a soap kind of gal.

Shower gels and foams are definitely more my thing. However, once I found out that this cute bar of soap glowed in the dark, I had to get one a try it out. You can guarantee if a product is slightly unique to what you can typically find on the shop shelves, I’m going to end up buying one.

You do have to ‘charge’ the soap up for its full glow in the dark effects. Just make sure you keep it out on your bathroom side (and not in a dark drawer), and you’ll be good to go!

Lemongrass Oil – Lemongrass is one of my favourite scents. I adore anything citrus, fresh and clean smelling, so this is right up my street. The oil is antiseptic and deodorising, and is also known to tone your skin. The scent of the Lemongrass has been known to have uplifting and anti-depressing qualities.

Bergamot Oil – Usually found in hair products to provide you with crazy shiny hair, this oil can also be used to help refresh your skin. Oh, and Bergamot Oil also smells crazy good as well.
