A Brand Called Bilou

A few months ago, I attended my first ever blogging event – BlogCon London – with Emily Becca. We each received a massively generous goodie bag, and one of the items inside was the Bilou Tasty Donut Shower Foam. After trying it out the next day, I instantly fell in love with it, and contacted the brand directly, who kindly sent me out three different products to test out.

About Bilou

Started by German YouTuber BibisBeautyPalace, Bilou is a 100% vegan brand who ensure they use only high-quality ingredients in their products. Currently, the brand only sells body sprays, shower foams and body cream foams which are sold exclusively in Superdrug (in selected stores and online). Since it’s still early days for the brand, I’m really hoping to see some more product releases in the future.

Fizzy Berry 2 in 1 Body Spray

“bilou Fizzy Berry smells fruity and fresh, like a tingly berry shower with a lemon spritzer. Very berrylicious!”

Now the weathers hotter, I’ve moved away from perfumes, and started to wear body sprays a lot more often. I’m not too sure why I prefer body sprays in the summer, I just always have. The Fizzy Berry 2 in 1 body spray smells very, very sweet. I wasn’t too sure if it would be something I’d wear after first giving it a wiff, but I’ve actually started to like it the more I use it. It’s not ‘grown up’ scent at all, and I can imagine this would be perfect for the younger generation. What I liked most about this is that it’s not just a body spray. It’s also a deodorant. I recently said in my June 2018 Empties that I prefer stick deodorants – which I still stand by – but I love how I can throw this in my bag, and not have to worry about bringing a deodorant AND a body spray. Pink Melon Creamy Shower Foam

“bilou Pink Melon has a delicious, summery fragrance of juicy melons and fruity raspberries – sweet summertime!”

Currently, this is my favourite thing from the brand. I’m a big fan on shower foams anyway (mainly because they’re super fun), but this one is incredible. This is going to sound really stupid, but I love how ‘thick’ the foam is. Literally, one tiny squirt of this is enough to cover my whole body. I tend to use conditioner to shave my legs, but I found this works really well also. It doesn’t make my legs feel as soft as conditioner does, but it really helps to show where you haven’t shaved yet. Fancy owning one of these yourself? Cotton Candy Gentle Cream Foam

“bilou Cotton Candy smells just like a fluffy cloud of cotton candy, sweet and caramel – absolute heaven!”

Now, I thought this was also a shower foam, but I was totally wrong. It’s actually a foam body moisturiser! After reading the ingredients and seeing how many oils were in it, I was scared that it would just sit on my skin, rather than be absorbed. Luckily, this one sinks in almost instantly. It doesn’t leave my skin with a glossy, hydrated look to it, but it does feel soft to the touch. The foam isn’t sticky and I don’t feel as if I have to wash my hands after applying this. Win win! I love the packaging of all the products, the different scents and also just how fun and different they are to anything I’ve seen before. However, I have noticed how since these were released, a lot more brands seem to be joining the ‘foam’ hype. I’ve tried a few other brands different shower foams, but nothing seems to beat these ones. I do think that they need to have some more ‘mature’ scents for the older generation. There is definitely still some room for improvement in expanding their scent range if you’re not a fan of smelling like a pick-a-mix. Other than that, I really do like the brand. I’d definitely purchase them again when they run out.
