I’m quite lucky in the aspect that the earliest I ever start work is 11:30am. I can wake up naturally with no alarm and slowly plod along, having time to eat breakfast and perform at least 4 and 1/2 songs to myself in the mirror. Surprisingly, this does have it’s downfalls. After I do my skincare, I tend to find myself back in bed, on my laptop, promoting old blog posts, checking emails, the usual shit, and before you know it, I have 10 minutes to get dressed and be at work. Because of this, I’ve learned which products I can slap on quickly, and what I need to avoid unless I want to lose my job. Below are my 3 favourite products I love to use when I’m in a rush (minus the wet wipes to wipe away the toothpaste drool mark on my chin).
The 3 Products I Reach For When I’m In A Rush
When I opened up my August 2017 Lookfantastic subscription box and saw this staring back at me, I wasn’t overly excited by it. I’m someone who will usually back away from any product that isn’t full coverage, so when I saw this BB cream, I was pretty gutted. It was only when I was running late to work one day and decided to throw this on in a rush, that I truly fell in love with the cream.
Not only was I honestly quite shocked at how much coverage it gave (it wasn’t full coverage, but it was enough), but it looked incredible on my skin. Not once has this looked patchy or cakey. It actually looks like skin. Hydrated, dewy, flawless skin.
The best part? Even though my skin is greaser than the floor at KFC, this didn’t slip or slide all day – I don’t even have to set this with a powder or wear any primer!
Obviously you can tell I’m in dire need of a new one. A friend of mine did say that the gold verison is more suitable for oily skin types, so I am rather tempted to give that one a go.
I first tried this out when it was first released and named as a dupe for the Too Faced Better Than Sex Mascara. In fact, I even wrote a full blog post about this mascara and what I thought about it.
Whilst I still haven’t tried out BTS mascara yet, I still can’t stop myself from using this one.
I love how full this makes my lashes look. I’ve heard a few different people say that they hated how clumpy this mascara is, but I’ve never found this to be a problem. Funnily enough, I prefer this when it’s dried out a little and a ‘thicker’ texture.
This also happens to be one of the mascaras I constantly repurchase. I don’t tend to fall this in love with mascaras, so I’m going to just pray that L’Oreal never discontinue this absolute gem.
I had a £10 gift card for New Look to spend and honestly, I had no idea what I want to get. Did I need new clothes? Did I have birthday presents to buy? Should I treat myself to a new pair of shoes? Na-da. Nothing was tempting me to spend this voucher. That was until I spotted their beauty section.
I adore the New Look matte lipsticks, so thought I would bite the bullet and try out a few other bits from their range.
This brow gel was one of the items I picked up and I haven’t really put it down since.
The gel itself is really pigmented, meaning that I can brush my brows through a couple of times, and within minutes they look natural, but nicely filled in.
I’m loving the Primark Skinny Brow Pencil for the days where I have a little longer to get ready, but if I’m in a rush, I’ll grab this without a doubt.
