Even though I do have quite a large perfume and body spray collection, I can’t help but get excited when a new bottle enters my collection. I’ve been a huge fan of Miss Grande since her Victorious days, but I’ve never tried out any of her perfumes until now. Moonlight by Ariana Grande was first released in America back in 2017, but in March 2018, Moonlight finally hit the U.K. shelves.
The shape of the bottle is really unique and unlike any other brands perfume bottle I’ve ever seen before. It’s geometric design seems to have become a staple design with Ariana’s perfumes. In fact, this is her 5th perfume she has created with the same shaped bottle. Below the lid has a lilac faux fur pom pom, attached by a removable clip. Be careful if you do own dogs though as I’ve had to rescue the bottle from Sasha multiple times already.
I can’t get over how beautiful the iridescent colouring is, however, I feel as if the colour and the design shouldn’t have been mixed together. The mix of them both makes the bottle look cheap and plasticity, and looks like something you’d get your niece so she felt ‘grown up’.
Despite my admiration for Ariana, I’m really disappointed with the packaging. I love my beauty products to have an expensive feel to them, and this one just didn’t cut it for me.
As I mentioned before, Ariana has 5 other perfumes with the same shaped packaging, and I really feel as if she hit the nail on the head with ARI. It’s pink, transparent glass bottle with metallic rose accents looks absolutely stunning. Let’s just say I’d keep ARI out on display, but Moonlight will definitely be kept tucked away in my beauty storage.
After feeling disheartened with the packaging, I was worried that the fragrance inside was going to leave me feeling the same. Surprisingly, Moonlight by Ariana Grande has completely redeemed itself.
With top notes of rich black currant and juicy plum, heart notes of fluffy marshmallow and fresh peony and base notes of creamy sandalwood, black amber and sensual vanilla, I couldn’t help but fall head over heels for its aroma.
I’m personally not a fan of perfumes that are super strong. Luckily, Moonlight by Ariana Grande has such a clean, smooth scent to it. I honestly can’t seeing many people not liking it.
It’s ultra feminine scent not only smells good, but lasts all day too. There’s nothing worse than spending money on a scent, only to find out you have to re-apply it every half hour.
I haven’t ever tried any other Ariana’s perfumes out, but next time I’m in Superdrug, I’m definitely going to give them a sniff.
