We’ve finally hit the month of September which means choosing what to wear can be difficult. Find yourself throwing on thick jumpers in the morning, only to be hit with blistering sunshine at lunch time? Same here boys and girls, same here. I’ve teamed up with Boohoo to show you exactly how you should be dressing for the awkward transitional weather we’re currently having:
Going back to 2016, I wouldn’t have been seen dead in a dress. It’s not the fact that I didn’t like how they looked in general, I just didn’t like how they looked on me. Since being diagnosed with Endometriosis, I find that dresses are now my new best friend. The only difference between now and 2016 is that I found dresses that suited my style and I felt comfortable in. Boohoo have over 3000 different dresses on their site, meaning your bound to find one that fits your style and needs.
What I love about shopping on Boohoo is how easy they’ve made it to find the exact item you want. Their quick and easy refine buttons make finding the perfect dress as easy as 1, 2, 3. Fancy wearing a Swing Dress? They’ve got your back. Feel as if a Multicoloured Dress is missing from your wardrobe? Boohoo have it all.
Typically, I tend to stick with smock dresses. Flowy, comfortable, and lastly, they’re forgiving for those bloated days. Since I’ve had to start dressing for the awkward transitional weather, I’ve been wearing more longer styled flowy dresses. I find that the longer material is enough to keep me warm, yet isn’t too close-fitting to make me feel uncomfortable when the sun appears. The one I’m wearing from Boohoo is absolutely perfect for me. It is a little booby so I do have to keep checking that the girls are still in, so I think if I was going on a night out, I’d pop a little safety-pin in it.
For those colder times, I love adding a vest under the dress I’m wearing. This is definitely another reason why I love wearing more flow dresses since you won’t be able to tell that I’m wearing a vest, but it’ll give me the extra warmth I need.
Jackets & Blazers
Last year, I became such a jacket horder. Do I need 4 different blazers that look pretty much identical? No. Will I continue to buy said identical blazers? Yes.
For this time of year, thin jackets and blazers are my go too. I want something that is going to keep the chill off of my arms, but also is light enough to carry around when it starts getting warmer.
Another firm favourite of mine is a cropped denim jacket. You can never go wrong with a bit of denim.
Whilst a lot of my jackets and blazers are one colour, I do also like to jazz up my outfit with a statement jacket. Personally, I feel like wearing one statement piece can completely change your whole outfit. I brought a black blazer last year with gold detailing, and I’m obsessed with wearing it with a plain outfit and a few gold accessories.
Two years ago, I treated myself to a very boujee pair of trainers. I’ve pretty much worn them everyday since, but since I now have no idea what the weathers going to do, I’ve been trying to add some ankle boots into my life.
I feel like whenever I’m wearing ankle boots, I never get that ‘oh my god I think my feet are actually swimming in a pool of sweat’ feeling that I tend to get with longer styled boots. They also don’t make my feet feel like ice blocks when the weather gets miserable which is a double bonus.
