The leopard print has come back into trend this spring and I am living for it. A few years back, I wouldn’t have been seen dead in anything leopard print in case someone accidentally mistook me for Kat Slater and ask for an autograph.
The animal print was most popular during the ’60s to the 80’s, and most commonly associated with rock stars. Then, moving on to 2010, if you were seen in leopard print, you’d most likely to be labelled as a chav. It’s funny how fashion trends work, huh?
My Favourite Leopard Print Fashion Pieces
I have two types of dresses in my wardrobe – flashy, going out dresses and black everyday dresses. Luckily, the big cat print can be either dressed up or down, depending on how you style it.
I’m such a huge fan of fashion pieces that can be worn any time of the day (and it will also save you a bucket load of dosh).
How I’d Style: For an everyday look, I’d pair my dress with some little flat ballet shoes or a pair of black, chelsea boots, teamed up with a black leather jacket, a small, red, across body bag and some aviators.
Whilst strappy animal print tops still remind me of pyjamas (definitely not complaining), they can look incredible with practically any skirt or jean. I think I prefer short/strappy/strapless tops in this print over long sleeved, but I can definitely see myself buying a top that’s similar to the one shown in the last image.
How I’d Style: Continuing with the strappy style top, I’d pair it with either a black, leather skirt or some blue demin jeans (extra sassy points awarded if you tuck the top in).
I think this may be my favourite way to wear the leopard print trend. Everything about the above outfits are screaming my name.
How I’d Style: Exactly the same as the first image. I’ve fallen head over heels for it, and I think I need to make space in my wardrobe as soon as possible for it.
Can we just take a minute to discuss how chic and stylish these accessories look?! Whilst some of the items in the slideshow below are rather pricey, there are also some bargains in shops such as ASOS and Matalan.
How I’d Style: If I were wearing this, I’d keep that as my statment piece. Pair up with a neutral coloured outfit and you’re good to go.
