Since my boyfriend went traveling, I’ve been spending a lot of my nights in on my own (is that a tad sad?). Whilst I do love surrounding myself with friends and family, I also do enjoy a night or two in on my own. I always have, and I think always will be someone who doesn’t mind my own company, however it sometimes can get a little boring. Here’s everything I like to do when I’m spending a night in on my own.
Have A Tidy Up
Firstly, whenever I start to clean my room, I love to either swap out my wax melts or change up my room diffuser. I tend to constantly have a room diffuser, but then I only really use my max melts in the evening, or if I’m spending a lot of time in my room during the day. There’s just something really nice about walking into your room and having it smell all fresh and clean.
I have to say Mrs Hinch has definitely got me feeling a lot better about tidying and cleaning my room. I used to hate it with a passion, but now with the motivation from her Instagram stories, I find myself enjoying it.
So, after I’ve picked my new room scent and popped on some music (Ariana Grande’s new album, ‘thank u, next’ has been on repeat ever since the album dropped), I then change my bedding, dust, wipe the sides, hover and 1001 the carpets, Febreeze my curtains, clean my mirror and windows, you get the gist.

Gather All The Snacks
I showed off my snack drawer on Instagram a few weeks back, and it’s safe to say a lot of you were more disgusted than impressed. Let’s just say that if I were to get locked in my room for a week, I’m pretty sure I’d survive it twice over.
Whenever I pop into town, I always end up stocking up in Pound Stretchers and Pound Land. They sell the cheapest snacks, and I just can’t resist them.
Actually Make Myself A Decent Meal
Whilst I do love eating junk food, I find that I could pretty much live on the stuff. I’m super lazy in the fact that if I haven’t thrown something in the slow cooker in the morning, it’s unlikely that I’ll actually eat a proper meal.
Homemade Spag Bol is my absolute favourite, so I try to make sure I’ve got everything ready to make myself something proper.
Read That Book I’ve Been Meaning To Start Reading
I’m pretty sure if I had more time, I’d read constantly.
I try my hardest to avoid watching endless amounts of Netflix, but if I’ve gotten myself obsessed with a new series (I finished watching YOU a week or so ago, and I full on binged watched it…), it can be pretty hard to tear myself away from the screen.
The one thing I find that really helps me read more is Goodreads. Every year, I set myself a ‘Reading Challenge’ through the app, and try my hardest to complete it every year (feel free to add me as a friend!).
This year, I’ve only challenged myself to read 14 books in 2019, so fingers crossed I’m able to complete it!
Watch A Guilty Pleasure
I’m talking The Charlotte Show, The Mummy Diaries, the old Love Island episodes. Basically, anything that my boyfriend refuses to watch with me anymore.
Don’t get me wrong, I adore watching deeper series, that do take some thinking, but I also love watching typical ‘trash tv’.
Have A Little Pamper
I feel like if you don’t have a pamper when you’re spending a night in on your own, you’re missing out.
I tend to run myself a nice hot bath, use a face mask, use a hair mask, exfoliate, the lot.
There’s not a better feeling that being all nice and clean and getting into clean bedding.
Reply To My Texts
Now, I wouldn’t say I’m a super popular person, but I am the WORST when it comes to replying to messages.
My friends are constantly telling me that there’s pretty much no point me owning a phone, since I never reply straight away or answer my calls.
For someone who never has her phone out her hand, endlessly scrolls through Instagram and Twitter and gets annoyed when people aren’t replying to me, you’d think I’d be better at sending a text back or two.
As I type this I currently have 43 unread messages that I desperately need to get through. Sorry to any of my friends who are reading this now, and I haven’t replied to you yet!
