My 2018 Summer Playlist

Summer is finally here (well, not technically, but if it’s warm enough to leave the house without a jacket, it’s summer in my eyes)! I feel like over the colder months, I never listen to music. As soon as the sun hits rainy England, you can guarantee I’m preparing a playlist to listen to repeatedly over the next few months. If you have any artist/song recommendations, please let me know, but for now, here’s a list of songs that have made it onto my 2018 summer playlist.

If I’m listening to music in my room, I tend to just use my MacBook speakers. I find that even though my MacBook speakers do the job for inside use, they’re not the best for when I’m sitting in the garden. I’ve been having a look on the Panasonic website, and found some incredible speakers in the Panasonic Multi Room Speaker range. I think it may be time I treated myself to one, so that I can listen to music all around the house.

This Is America – Childish Gambino

I fell in love with Donald Glover (Childish Gambino) ever since I listened to 3005. Honestly, I don’t think there is anything this man can’t do. If you do one thing today, make sure you watch his ‘This Is America’ music video. I saw someone’s tweet saying how he’s doing everything Kayne West thinks he’s doing, and I couldn’t agree more.

The Woodpile – Frightened Rabbit

I’ve been a big fan of Frightened Rabbit for a while now. The news about Scott honestly broke my heart. If you’re reading this and feel lost, down, hopeless, anything, please get help. Mental health is nothing to be ashamed of or embarrassed about. Nobody feels sheepish about going to the doctor for a cough, so please seek help if you’re feeling depressed.

The Sound – The 1975

I saw The 1975 live in Oxford a few years back, I honestly sobbed through the whole thing. With them hinting at new music, my inner fangirl can’t control herself.

One Kiss – Calvin Harris, Dua Lipa

Dua Lipa is slowly becoming one of my favourite artists. I feel like there isn’t a single song of hers that I dislike.

No Tears Left To Cry – Ariana Grande

When I first heard this song, I wasn’t it’s biggest fan. After replaying it a few times, I became literally obsessed with it. Sorry to my family whose had to hear me bellow this out on repeat for the last few weeks.

God’s Plan – Drake

Again, if you haven’t watched the music video to God’s Plan, you’re seriously missing out. I was a big fan of Drake before watching the video, but it’s seriously made me fall madly in love with him. Fingers crossed that his music video has inspired other wealthy artists to follow in his footsteps.
