Happy Easter to you all! Despite expecting a Easter themed April 2019 Look Fantastic Subscription Box, I’m very excited to see this month’s box is themed around ‘Raw Beauty’. Organic, natural and botanical beauty are the three things that this months box and magazine is really focusing on. Products from brands like Emma Hardie, Grow Gorgeous and Ahava, and a magazine with a smoothie bowl recipe, natural alternatives to Retinol, and also sustainable lifestyle changes we can all make, really prove that Look Fantastic know their stuff about all things about natural beauty.
Also, completely going off topic, but I’ve finally brought back the flatlays! There’s only so many photos I can take in the same 3 areas of my room…
“Create a hydrating veil over skin with this intensive moisturiser, rich in Hyaluronic Acid. Improve the appearance of the complexion by locking in moisture levels beneath the skin’s surface, soothing irritation and plumping the skin.”
“How to use: Warm product between fingertips and smooth evenly over the face and neck for smooth, radiant skin.”
“Editor’s tip: If you have oily skin, you may prefer to use this as a hydrating night cream instead of a daily moisturiser.”
I’m really starting to work on repairing my skin’s moisture barrier, so seeing that this Revitalising Cream is rich in Hyaluronic Acid has made me one happy gal.
Since starting to really hydrate my skin, I’ve noticed how less oily I’m getting throughout the day. Saying that, I do think that this may be slightly too heavy for me in the day, but I’m really excited to test this out as a night cream.
“Combat anti-ageing and hyperpigmentation with this Vitamin C infused repairing serum. Containing stabilised Vitamin C and Melavoid, this serum works to reduce skin pigmentation and calm inflamed skin, leaving the complexion soft and radiant.”
“How to use: Apply after cleansing, dotting the serum over the face and neck in the morning and evening.”
“Editor’s tip: If you’re using a Retinol based product, we’d suggest alternating its use with a Vitamin C as they can react on the skin if used together.”
This couldn’t have come at a better time for me.
Vitamin C is a super popular ingredient in skin care. It’s known for its anti-ageing properties, fighting against pigmentation, helping with acne and acne scars and also protect against sun damage. That being said, please don’t use Vitamin C instead of an SPF.
Whilst i’m slowly getting my acne under control, I’m dealing with a lot of P.I.E. (Post Inflammatory Erythema) at the moment. One of the things that people keep recommending to help treat it is Vitamin C.
I don’t have overly sensitive skin, so I’ll be using this with other acids I have in my current routine. However, if you’re not too sure on how your skin may react, I’d definitely recommend introducing this slowing/using on days when you’re not using acids.
“Revive tired and flat hair with this 10-minute miracle-worker that will add a boost of life into the roots. This stimulating scalp mask revitalises the scalp, lifts the roots so your hair appears bouncy and voluminous. Infused with Burdock Root, Hyaluronic Acid, vitamins and Caffeine, the mask creates a cooling sensation whilst creating a fuller and thicker appearance of hair. This paraben and sulphate free formula will leave hair light, clean and bouncy.”
“How to use: Massage a generous amount into dry hair. Leave on for 10 minutes. Rinse off to reveal bouncy locks.”
“Editor’s tip: Leave this on for an hour, covering hair with a shower cap for an intensive treatment to revive even the driest of hair!”
Unfortunately, this is one product I won’t be able to use.
My scalp is really sensitive to products due to my psoriasis, so I tend to stick to hair products that I know I’m okay with.
It’s claims do sounds pretty fab though, and I’ve heard lots of good things about Grow Gorgeous, but this ones going to be a miss for me.
“Enhance the lips with this your-lips-but-better shade of pink. A mineral lipstick formulated with natural waxes and mineral pigments, this smooth and silky 100% natural formula delivers long-lasting colour without drying the lips.”
“How to use: Apply to lips and reapply as needed. For a precise finish, outline the lips with a lip liner prior to lipstick application.”
“Editor’s tip: To tap into a key Spring beauty trend, apply and then blot with a tissue to achieve a diffused and blended lip colour.”
Without swatching, the lipstick shade looks absolutely beautiful. I would say it’s a little dark for it to be my ‘lips-but-better’ shade, but if your dark skinned, this would be just that.
I’ve tried a few Bellapierre products before and I really liked them, so hopefully this is no different. The fact that it has a 100% natural formula also makes me one happy girl.
The only downside to this product is that I’m really not a fan of the packaging. It feels a bit plasticity, light, and well, cheap. For a £16 lipstick, I would definitely expect better quality.
Created for sensitive skin, this recovery mask from NAOBAY contains softening and refreshing Orange floral water, Vitamin E and moisturising ingredients such as Rice, Poppy and Tigernut oils to restore fatty acid levels in the skin. Ideal for soothing inflamed skin, this mask contains zinc oxide which helps to enhance the skin barrier and reduce redness. With 98.7% of the ingredients from natural origins and over 30% derived from organic farming methods, this mask is a natural skincare wonder.
How to use: Apply to dry skin and leave on for at least 7 minutes. Rinse off with warm water.
Editor’s tip: This mask contains Bentonite clay so if you have drier skin, you may wish to follow this with a rich moisturiser.
Oh I do love a good face mask. Especially a clay one like this.
I tend to do around 4 masks a week (an ordinary masks for whatever I think is going to be best for my skin that day, and then a sheet mask after if I use a clay mask twice a week).
I’ve also been using a rice water oil cleanser, and my skin has been absolutely loving it. Seeing rice in this mask has made me super excited to try it out!
Experience the ultimate restorative soak with these natural Dead Sea bath salts. Enriched with over 21 essential skin-friendly minerals, these salts can help to replenish skin and relieve muscle tension and inflammation whilst simultaneously softening and hydrating skin. Containing Magnesium, Calcium and Potassium, this soak promotes a restful night’s sleep. Immerse yourself in the Dead Sea’s healing waters with this spa like salt soak that detoxifies and hydrates.
How to use: Pour the packet into warm bath water and soak for 20 minutes to harness the full benefits.
Editor’s tip: If you don’t have a bath, try using half the packet as a restorative foot bath. This will capture the benefits of the minerals and give your feet a pamper.
I’ve purchased bath salts before, and whilst I don’t hate them, I’m also not their biggest fan.
In all honesty, I’m just not entirely sure if I notice any difference (minus the fact when I don’t use them, I’m not worrying about the salt going up my bum…).
I’ll definitely use up the bag, but I doubt I’ll be buying a replacement after.
