This months June 2019 Look Fantastic Subscription Box theme is all about ‘Around The World’, featuring 6 diverse beauty products. With brands such as SVR, ECooking and BioEffect, theres something for everyone in this box. The only thing I’m slightly surprised about is that there isn’t a single makeup product in it. Doesn’t really bother me, but I know a lot of people do subscribe to these boxes for a mix of both skincare and makeup.

What’s Inside The June 2019 Look Fantastic Subscription Box?
SVR TOPIALYSE PALPÉBRALE DRY + SENSITIVE EYELID CREAM – worth £15.00
“Calm and soothe sensitive and itchy eyes with this gentle treatment for dry and easily irritated skin. With clinically proven effectiveness, this French eye cream delivers 24-hour hydration, immediately relieving any discomfort. Created to soothe, reduce redness and irritation, moisturise the delicate eye area and protect against external aggressors — this eye cream address a wide range of concerns.”
“How to use: Apply morning and evening to the eyelids and eye contour.”
“Editor’s tip: Eye cream is a skincare essential — even when you don’t think you need it. We’d suggest keeping this in the fridge to help relieve puffiness upon application.”
I’ve seen a few people mentioning this brand, but I’ve never actually used anything from them before.
SVR creates products designed for sensitive and fragile skin, so you won’t have to worry about their products being too harsh for you. Also, they have 15 different ranges, so you’re bound to find a product suitable for your skin needs.
After having a look at this product on their website, 95% of people said it immediately soothes irritated sensations and provides immediate comfort, whilst 90% of people said it reduces the redness of the eyelid and the contour of the eye and permanently soothes scratching sensations. Sounds just the product I need for hay fever season!
ECOOKING PEELING MASK – worth £11.10
“Maintain skin’s youthful appearance with this peeling mask from Danish skincare brand, Ecooking. Utilising AHAs including Lactic, Salicylic and Glycolic acid, this mask buffs away dead skin cells to reveal a radiant and glowing complexion. 100% vegan, this mask delivers results in under 10 minutes.”
“How to use: Apply for 4-6 minutes depending on skin tolerance. Use weekly.”
“Editor’s tip: Due to the concentration of AHAs, this mask should tingle upon application — this means it’s working. We’d suggest using this in the evening for best results.”
I’m super intrigued by this mask. I absolutely love using acids in my skincare routine. Personally, they really help keep my skin tone in order, and to unclog my pores.
This mask has two different AHAs in – Lactic (improves skin texture and reduces the appearance of ageing) and Glycolic acid (brightens, treats scarring/discolouration, plumps and smooths) – and also one BHA – Salicylic acid (dissolves skin ‘glue’ that blocks pores and causes acne).
My skin is pretty used to acids now, so I’m most likely going to be keeping this on for the full 6 minutes. It’ll be interesting to see if this does anything different than my The Ordinary AHA 30% + BHA 2% Peeling Solution.
BIOEFFECT EGF SERUM – worth £25.00
“Give skin a new lease of life with a serum from ground- breaking Icelandic brand, BIOEFFECT. Using a plant based replica of EGF (a naturally occurring human protein), this serum acts as an anti-ageing treatment by reducing the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles, whilst boosting radiance. Quick absorbing, this serum deeply moisturises and rehydrates.”
“How to use: Smooth 2-4 drops over clean and dry skin on the face and neck, patting gently until fully absorbed.”
“Editor’s tip: A small amount goes a long way with this powerful serum — we’d suggest using a pea sized amount for the best results.”
Firstly, this serum is EXPENSIVE. For the full sized bottle (15ml), it’s £125.
ONE HUNDRED AND TWENTY FIVE POUNDS.
I can honestly say if I hadn’t of receive this in my June 2019 Look Fantastic Subscription Box, I definitely wouldn’t have thought twice about looking at it.
Whilst I’m not really too focused on using anti-ageing products right now, the ‘deeply moisturises and rehydrates’ factor does really appeal to me. I’m trying super hard to incorporate hydrating products into my routine so once I’ve finished up my current serum, I may have to put this in it’s place.
BUMBLE AND BUMBLE SURF SPRAY – worth £2.40
“Give your hair a perfectly tousled beachy look with cult Salt Spray from Bumble and Bumble. Applied wet or dry, this surf spray adds body and texture to fine hair.”
“How to use: Lightly spritz into damp hair, allowing hair to air dry for a beachy finish.”
“Editor’s tip: Use the salt spray on day two hair for added texture.”
How anyone has time in the morning to do their hair literally blows my mind.
No matter how many times I’ve promised myself that I’ll actually start styling my hair, it never happens. I’d much rather spend an extra half hour in bed than faffing around with my locks.
Sea Salt sprays are one of the rare styling products I actually use. Mainly since all you have to do is spritz on your hair, give it a scrunch and you’re good to go.
I’ve not actually tried anything from Bumble and Bumble before, so I’m excited to see how well this one works out for me.
KORRES NATURAL PURE GREEK SOAP CHAMOMILE – worth £5.00
“Enjoy a refreshing cleanse with this traditional Greek soap bar inspired by historic beauty rituals of Cretan women. Formulated with natural ingredients, elevate your daily cleansing routine with this multi-use soap.”
“How to use: Work into a lather for a gentle cleanse.”
“Editor’s tip: Suitable for all skin types, these soaps are 98% natural!”
When I first saw this, I was actually considering for one of the first times in my life to use this as my new facial cleanser. However, after looking at the ingredients and seeing Mineral Oil being number 1, I’m definitely going to give this one a miss.
Long story short, mineral oil and acne prone skin should never be combined (unless you’re actively trying to block your pores).
I’m not a huge fan of using soaps in the bath either as I much prefer using shower gels and foams, so this one is going straight into my giveaway pile for someone who’ll get some use out of it.
FILORGA LIFT-STRUCTURE – worth £9.10
“Formulated with active ingredients to deliver visible effects, Collagen and Hyaluronic Acid work together to visibly reduce signs of ageing. Created by a leading French dermatology clinic, Filorga is focused on creating skincare solutions directly inspired by non-surgical anti-ageing procedures. expect visibly tighter and plumper skin, with restored firmness in just seven days.”
“How to use: Apply morning and evening, massaging into face and décolletage.”
“Editor’s tip: Integrate as part of a daily facial massage routine to reduce puffiness or inflamed skin.”
The Ultra-Lifting Cream sounds exactly what my skin needs right now. Plumper skin in 7 days? I’ll take that!
Unfortunately, the sample size that we received in the box is only 7ml. If I used this twice a day, I’m definitely not going to be seeing day 7 with it.
I guess this is one of the downsides to using subscription boxes. It’s a great way to try out new products that you wouldn’t have necessarily tried out before, however the sizes of the products are too small to give a fair judgment.
I’ll definitely reach for this when my skin is feeling a bit inflamed, but I definitely won’t be able to try this out for the full 7 days, unless I purchased the full sized bottle.
