It’s rare that I say that I’m in love with every single product in a beauty box, but this months May 2019 Look Incredible Deluxe Subscription Box has blown me away. For only £35 a month, we’ve received a box full of products I know for sure that I’m going to be using, and a huge total worth of £100.50. How they manage to send out these incredible products month after month is incredible (geddit?). The May 2019 Look Incredible Deluxe Subscription Box features four high end brands – Too Faced, It Cosmetics, Ciate, and lastly, their ‘Brand Of The Month’, Charlotte Tilbury. Whilst I’ve seen all of the first three brands products in previous Look Incredible boxes, it’s the first time I’ve ever seen (or ever known a box to send out) a Charlotte Tilbury product in this subscription box. Look Incredible, you’ve done good my friend.
Look Incredible now offer three different boxes:
- Look Incredible Beauty Box – £25 a month – 5 full sized products.
- Look Incredible Deluxe Beauty Box (featured in this post) – £35 a month – 4/5 full sized products from high end brands.
- My Secret Box – £65 every other month – 4/5 luxury products
Whilst I do think they’re one of the more expensive beauty boxes, I definitely think that it’s worth spending the money on if you’re after some high end beauty products in your collection.
Previous Look Incredible Deluxe Beauty Boxes:
- January 2019 Look Incredible Deluxe Subscription Box
- February 2019 Look Incredible Deluxe Subscription Box
- March 2019 Look Incredible Deluxe Subscription Box
Something new that they’ve introduced for the first time is ‘Brand Of The Month’. Whilst there isn’t much information about what products ‘qualify’ for Brand Of The Month, I’m guessing it’s the most raved about, expensive product in that box.
I can definitely say that I’m ecstatic with this new addition to the box, and I’m now the proud owner of my first Charlotte Tilbury product.
Brand Of The Month: Charlotte Tilbury
"Give a woman the right makeup and she can conquer the world." - Charlotte Tilbury
Charlotte Tilbury Wonderglow 40ml – £38.50
“Charlotte has created miracle fix to turn around tired, dull, dehydrated skin in a beauty flash called Wonderglow, powered by a break- through Fluorescent Core Light Diffuser that cleverly steals UV light from its surroundings and re-emits it as skin luminosity to disguise and transform drab, sleep-deprived skin. Charlotte Tilbury Wonderglow is a visionary new anti-age hybrid. A cross between an anti-age elixir and a complexion-enhancing light diffuser to give skin an instant “spotlight” effect. Collagen-boosting peptides and patented wrinkle-preventing ingredients are fused with light- reflecting microspheres with a fluorescent core that fill in wrinkles and scatter light to blur away lines and flood skin with luminosity. Create the definition of youthful, healthy skin: glowing, hydrated and effervescent. It can be used underneath the Light Wonder foundation, on its own for a relaxed, effortlessly dewy look or on top of makeup through-out the day to give your skin an instant pick-me-up. One of Charlotte’s seven wonders for your skin!”
Weirdly enough, the day before this box arrived, my mum and I had a little nosey around John Lewis, and was eyeing up this exact product.
I’ve recently made the decision to stop wearing any base makeup until my skin clears up. If you follow me on Instagram, you’ll know I’m constantly battling my skin, and have really started to get into skin care. Whilst all I want to do is cover it up, I want to let my skin heal and also, skipping out on base makeup entirely means I get to spend an extra 20 minutes in bed, so who’s the real winner?
That being said, I cannot wait to try this product out in the summer. I’m all about that dewy, glowy, glass skin look, and this sounds like the exact product I need to create that.
After having a look at the ingredients on cosDNA.com, the Wonderglow contains pretty fab ingredients, so I know I can wear this without worrying too much about it causing potential flare ups.
What Else Is Inside The May 2019 Look Incredible Deluxe Subscription Box?
Too Faced Glitter Pop Eyeliner – Kitten Glitter – £16.00
“The Too Faced Glitter Pop Eye Liner is an innovative peel-off eyeliner that glides on easily and peels off just as effortlessly when you’re done.Easy to apply with integrated fine tip applicator, the liquid eyeliner delivers glittering pigment onto lids with no fall out, and uses innovative film formers to lock down glitter until you choose to peel it off. Mix and match different colours or layer together for endless customised results. Free from gluten and parabens. Cruelty-free. Vegan.”
When Too Faced first released their ‘Glitter Pop Eyeliners’, I was dying to get my hands on one.
I don’t tend to use eyeliner that much anymore, but I’m still the proud owner of the whole Collection Glam Crystals Eyeliner shades, and I’m very happy for this Glitter Pop to join them.
I absolutely love the idea of the liner being able to peel off, meaning that you don’t have to spend the next 10 minutes trying to remove every single last spec of glitter that been smudged around when trying to take off your makeup. The only thing that slightly worries me is that I’m not too sure how well it’s going to last. If it’s easily peeled off, doesn’t that mean it’s going to start peeling off when you don’t want it too? Time will tell.
It Cosmetics Your Lips But Better All-day Waterproof Lip Liner Stain – IT Girl – £17.00
“Your Lips But BetterTM is your lip liner, primer and long-wear stain—all in one sleek, automatic pencil with a built-in sharpener! Developed with plastic surgeons, this beauty game-changer hydrates and conditions your lips while delivering gorgeous, velvety color that’s clinically shown waterproof, even after 8 hours of wear. The ultra-luxe, creamy formula is infused with anti-aging collagen, silk, peptides, hyaluronic acid, avocado oil, shea butter, aloe and jojoba to nourish lips and minimize the appearance of lip lines, plus antioxidants including vitamins A and E, grape seed and green tea to help protect against free-radical damage.”
I’ll be honest. I can’t remember the last time I wore something on my lips that wasn’t either a lip balm or a nude shade. However, this colour is absolutely beautiful.
I will slightly disagree with the product name – ‘Your Lips But Better’. To me, shades with that description are meant to be a similar shade to your natural lip colour, but I’m not too sure if shade ‘IT Girl’ can be classed as that.
It’s more of a pinky red colour – stunning, but not exactly a natural lip shade.
Minus the fact I’m not completely sold on the name, I’ll 100% be trying this liner out whenever I next pop on a red lipstick.
Ciate Astrolights Burnt Palette – £29.00
“Alongside a mix of hyper-real metallic shadows and ultra-smooth mattes, each Astrolights palette features a special effect duo-chrome shade in a brand new innovative powder-gel formulation for fully pigmented eyeshadow looks. Create duo- chromatic, molten metal and matte looks effortlessly with nine buttery-smooth, ultra-blendable shadows in each palette: BURNT Chocolatey browns and rust tones are matched with a green- gold duo-chrome shade in the centre for the ultimate bronzed goddess vibe.”
I’ve only ever tried out a small handful of Ciate products, but never any of their eyeshadows. I used to wear eyeshadow daily, but now I only tend to wear it on special occasions.
This Astrolights Burnt palette features four matte shades along the bottom, four metallic shadows along the top, and one duo-chrome shade that’s placed in the middle of them all. Both the matte and the metallic shades aren’t anything that ‘new’ (even though they’re still some of my favourite shades to wear), but the centre duo-chrome shade ‘Haze’ is unlike any shade I’ve seen before. I think it would look absolutely stunning as a inner corner and brow bone highlighter.
I absolutely adore the outer packaging of this. It’s absolutely beautiful, and I’m instantly wishing I stored my makeup in acrylic drawers, just so I could show this off all the time.
The inside of the palette has a mirror on the upper side which I love. I hate it when palettes of any kind either don’t have a mirror, or have a tiny one that’s hard to see anything in.
However, I’m not a huge fan of how the shadows are set out. It sort of reminds me of a child’s first eyeshadow palette. I would have much preferred a slightly larger palette, and had the centre shade a larger size on either side. The way it’s currently designed means that four of my favourite shades in it have a quarter of the pan missing.
Firstly, the shades aren’t the most pigmented in the world. If I paid £29 for nine shadows, I would expect them to have a little more ‘wham-bam-thank-you-ma’am’ to them.
The metallic shades are the most pigmented out of them all, but luckily from swatches alone, they do all seem to be buildable.
